You appreciate", and scheduled to be held during the period from 3 March to 7 March 2024 Organized by the Public Library of Egypt in cooperation with the Abdullah Al-Sawy Foundation, in cooperation with the Goethe Institute, the French Institute, the Damanhour opera and the Beheira branch of the National Council for women, it aims to preserve the heritage of Egyptian cartoons. In the presence of Eric Lubah, the French cultural attache to Egypt, Hany Hanna-book and publishing officer at the French Institute, Naglaa Abbas-head of the Equal Opportunities unit in the governorate and a member of the National Council for women, cartoonist/ Abdullah Al - Sawy, Ahmed Al-hawashi-director of the Damanhour Public Library and professor Lydia Emile, member of the National Council for women, ambassador of love and peace on behalf of engineer Zakia Rashad, rapporteur of the National Council for women in the lake . The press conference addressed the importance of the festival, which will be attended by many countries to please guests on the land of Beheira governorate, foremost of which is the state of France to be the guest of honor of the festival in its first session, and the personality of the festival was also determined to be the journalist writer Mounira Thabet, dean of Egyptian women journalists, and a symbol of the festival was chosen for its first session on the personality of the girl of the country; one of the most important and most famous cartoon characters of the late Egyptian cartoonist Mohammed Abdel Moneim Rekha . During the conference, the artist Abdullah Al - Sawy, head of the organizing foundation of the festival, stressed that it is a qualitative festival specialized in caricatures of women to identify their image, problems and issues, and defend their rights through the works that will be presented during the festival . He pointed out the importance of the festival, where cultural bridges will be established between caricatures of Egyptians, Arabs, and foreigners from different countries, in addition to encouraging cultural interaction, and maximizing the return on creativity in the field of caricature. The director of the Egypt Public Library in Damanhour also pointed out that on the sidelines of the festival free workshops will be held to teach the principles of drawing and caricature portraiture, for girls for ٥ days, where it will be held from 3 march to 7 march, a caricature exhibition about women will be organized for two weeks, including A painting, and a competition will be held among workshop participants about Egyptian women pioneers in the twentieth century, adding that a group of seminars will be held during the festival period . Eric Lubah, the French cultural attache to Egypt, thanked the organizers of the festival, expressing his gratitude for the participation of the French Institute, as one of the supporters of the festival, stressing that it is his first visit to Beheira governorate, and expressed his happiness with the warm welcome and reception for him.
